Boomshot’s Meredith Weiss Talks Connection, Sports, and the Lost Art of the 2-Martini Lunch
Boomshot Principal Meredith Weiss sat down with Muse by Clios for their “2 Minutes With” series, sharing her take on what the industry has lost and how to get it back.
Meredith, who took sole ownership of Boomshot this year after brand-side roles at Discovery, HBO, and ESPN, made the case for real, in-person relationship-building in an increasingly digital-first industry. “We have forgotten how to connect,” she said. “The in-person piece that allowed us to create our business has drifted away.”
She also spoke to the singular power of sports as a connector “You can disagree politically yet root for the same team without negativity” and looked back on standout Boomshot work, including USTA’s “Dear Serena” retirement celebration, NASCAR’s 75th anniversary campaign, and Prime Sports’ Thursday Night Football coverage.
Her closing hot take? Maybe we don’t need to bring back the 2-martini lunch exactly but we could all use a little more of the genuine relationship-building it stood for.
